Welcome to the 2024 - 2025 school year here at Smackover High School!

After serving as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal of Norphlet Middle School for the past nine years, I am excited to begin a new journey as the principal of SHS! I hope that everyone was able to relax and make special memories with your friends and families over the summer break. Now it is time to look forward to a new school year!

Our incredible staff of educators have been in school throughout the summer to prepare curriculum and classrooms for the new school year. We are grateful to our amazing custodial staff and maintenance crew as they worked all summer getting our school in pristine shape. Our office staff are working hard to ensure a smooth start for staff, students, and families. 

Smackover High School is such a special place where students can learn and grow. Our community is proud of our school and has high expectations for each and every student. Together with our dedicated staff, we strive to make connections with students to help them feel valued, accepted, and safe. Our mission is to provide a safe, respectful community for all students to achieve excellence as they become college and career ready.

Partnering with families is crucial to create a learning environment that does not stop when the dismissal bell rings at the end of the day. Parents are busy in the fast paced world we live in today but we encourage families to attend every school event possible to support their children. To help our community stay connected, our district makes announcements and provides information about school activity and events on our school website, on The Buckaroo Blog, and on our district Facebook page. Make sure to check all of these regularly throughout the school year.

To our Senior Class of 2025, this is your year! It is the final step in high school where you get to decide on the path you want to take in life. Work hard, be proud of who you are, and make the most of every minute.
