OFFER VS. SERVE PROGRAM

Smackover-Norphlet School District cafeterias participate in the “Offer Versus Serve (OVS) program for students in grades 5-12.

This program allows students to decline some of the food offered in a reimbursable lunch or breakfast, and also allows for alternate choices of entrees and sides to be offered by our cafeterias. An OVS reimbursable lunch consists of three (3) components selected from the five (5) components (food groups) offered in the planned serving line, with one of these required to be at least a half-cup serving of fruits and/or vegetables.

For an OVS breakfast, students are required to select 3 of the 4 food items served with one being a half-cup of fruit. Some food items that are many times not recognized but do count toward an OVS component are a milk (1 cup - meat component), a juice box (half-cup - fruit component), or a full tray salad (not side salad) with meat/cheese and a milk (complete OVS reimbursable meal).

ALTERNATE CHOICES

The SNSD cafeterias offer daily alternate choices such as hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken strips. These alternate options are offered in an effort to serve food that students like and to encourage more students to participate in the school lunch program.

However, alternate choices are on a first-come, first-serve basis. If alternate choices are not available, students are required to select from the remaining entree and side items.

Our schools and especially our cafeteria teams welcome visitors for breakfast and/or lunch. Upon arrival, visitors must check-in at the school’s main office, which is required for anyone wishing to come on to any campus.

Lunch for guests is $4.75 and breakfast is $2.70.  We hope you will join us in our cafeterias and enjoy the outstanding meals our cafeteria teams provide for our students and staff.

EZ SCHOOL PAY SERVICE

Smackover-Norphlet School District has partnered with EZ School Pay to provide an online payment service for parents in regards to cafeteria meals. This service provides parents the opportunity put money into their child’s food service account in an online format. Parents may monitor their child’s meal account balance and receive low-balance email alerts through EZSchoolPay.com. The online payment option is a quick and secure way to deposit money to a child’s meal account by using a debit or credit card.
