The Smackover-Norphlet School District Preschool accepts babies who are six-weeks old to Pre-Kindergarten age. Activities are planned around each child’s individual needs, abilities and interests.

Early childhood education plays a critical role in a student's development by laying the foundation for future academic and social success. During the early years, children's brains are highly receptive to learning, making this a crucial period for cognitive, language, and emotional growth. High-quality early childhood education provides children with structured environments where they can develop essential skills like problem-solving, communication, and cooperation. Early childhood education is essential for closing opportunity gaps that may exist before children enter formal schooling. Because children learn through use of their senses and by movement, it may not look like “school” to adults! But, our teachers use play experiences to help children learn basic skills and concepts that will prepare them for Kindergarten. Activities encourage exploration, creativity, and problem solving, and our staff works with children to enhance their learning and development in all areas, including social/emotional, physical, language/literacy, and intellectual.
