Student Council – Smackover High School
Smackover High School Student Council members serve our school community throughout the year in a variety of ways.
Members help incoming freshmen at Open House by giving tours of the high school to ensure that these students and parents feel comfortable before the first day of school.
On the first day of school, members plan a skit or spirit activity to encourage school spirit throughout the year. This year, students taught each class a class chant to yell during pep rallies. This has fostered a since of class pride for our students.
Members also play a big role during Homecoming. Members help decorate the hallways, make signs for the maids, speak at coronation, and give tours to alumni groups.
During Dr. Seuss Week, members read and play literacy games with elementary students in the library.
In the spring, members help plan, organize, and implement Buckaroo Olympics at the high school. Members also help with the field day for the elementary school.
