Ms. McCurry’s AP U.S. History students at Smackover High School combined creativity and scholarship this week during their Early American History Pumpkin Project! Each student selected a historical figure from 1491 to 1754 and decorated a pumpkin to represent their chosen individual. Alongside their artistic creations, students presented detailed reports about their subjects, showcasing both their historical knowledge and imagination.
Featured in the project were:
- Alexia Eason with Christopher Columbus
- Leah Manning with Anne Hutchinson
- Harley Cummings with John Locke
- Fischer Greer with Hernán Cortés
This engaging project was a fun and educational way for students to dive deeper into early American history — proving that learning can be both hands-on and memorable!
